Key takeaways
A free library of 10 structured GTM AI prompts, built for positioning, ICP research, content, sales decks, cold email, LinkedIn ads, and case studies.
Every prompt follows the same architecture: ROLE -> TASK -> GOAL -> AUDIENCE -> STYLE -> CONSTRAINTS -> INPUTS.
The prompts are designed to chain into full workflows, not just run standalone.
Claude is the strongest model for positioning, JTBD, and long-form copy; GPT with Deep Research and Perplexity are better for live market research.

Most marketing AI prompts online are bloated, generic, or written by people who've never shipped real GTM work.

So I built my own.

The GTM Growth Prompts is a free library of 10 structured prompts I use across every client engagement — positioning, ICP research, content calendars, sales decks, cold email, LinkedIn ads, and case studies.

Each prompt follows the same architecture: ROLE → TASK → GOAL → AUDIENCE → STYLE → CONSTRAINTS → INPUTS.

Use variables. Chain outputs. Edit before shipping.

What are GTM AI prompts?

GTM AI prompts are structured instructions designed to generate go-to-market deliverables — positioning, messaging, content, outbound copy — using large language models like Claude or ChatGPT.

Unlike generic prompts ("write me a marketing email"), GTM prompts include role context, audience definition, style constraints, and required inputs.

They produce outputs that don't read like AI slop — and that map directly to real marketing workflows.

Why I built this prompt library

After 8+ years across B2B SaaS marketing roles and 50+ client engagements, I noticed every team rebuilds the same prompts from scratch.

Every founder writing positioning. Every marketer drafting outbound. Every PMM building a sales deck.

So I systematized what works. These 10 prompts cover the GTM work I actually do.

The 10 GTM AI prompts inside the library

Each prompt links to its own Google Doc. You can copy, customize, and run them through AI tools.

1. April Dunford Style Positioning Prompt

Builds a 5-component positioning canvas based on April Dunford's Obviously Awesome framework. Surfaces unique attributes versus real competitive alternatives — not generic "market leader" claims.

Use this when: launching a new product, repositioning an existing one, or aligning sales and marketing on one story.

2. ICP Pain Point Mapping Prompt

Maps buyer pain across four dimensions: operational, strategic, financial, and personal. Groups pains into Pain-Qualified Segments (PQS) ranked by severity and addressability.

Use this when: narrowing your ICP, building messaging, or sharpening sales discovery.

3. Jobs-To-Be-Done (JTBD) Framework Prompt

Applies the Bob Moesta / Alan Klement switch-interview model. Extracts functional, emotional, and social jobs, plus the Forces of Progress (Push, Pull, Anxiety, Habit).

Use this when: building product roadmap priorities, repositioning, or rewriting category narrative.

4. Product-Led Content Calendar Prompt

Generates a 90-day TOFU/MOFU/BOFU content plan where every piece ties to a product hook — not vanity traffic. Includes keyword targeting, persona mapping, and repurposing strategy.

Use this when: planning a quarterly content sprint or rebuilding a stale content engine.

5. BOFU Competitor Comparison Page Prompt

Writes honest "vs" comparison pages that capture high-intent searches like "[competitor] alternative". Includes capability tables, pricing comparison, and migration sections.

Use this when: targeting bottom-of-funnel search traffic or arming sales with battle cards.

6. Cold Outreach 4-Step Email Sequence Prompt

Generates a 4-email cold outbound sequence with subject line spintext, soft CTAs, front-end offers, and Clay-safe merge variables. Strict word caps prevent the AI bloat that kills reply rates.

Use this when: launching outbound to a new segment or rebuilding sequences that stopped converting.

7. Sales Deck 7-Slide Copy Prompt

Writes a 7-slide sales deck using Andy Raskin's Strategic Narrative + April Dunford's Sales Pitch structure: market shift → stakes → solution → proof.

Use this when: building a new deck, refreshing an old one, or training new AEs on the pitch.

8. SaaS Homepage Structure + Messaging Prompt

Generates a full homepage brief — hero, social proof, problem, solution, capabilities, outcomes, differentiators, pricing teaser, FAQ. Passes the 5-second clarity test.

Use this when: rebuilding a SaaS homepage or briefing a Webflow/Framer designer.

9. LinkedIn Ads Messaging + Creative Brief Prompt

Produces 5 LinkedIn ad variations (pain, proof, contrarian, comparison, resource) with creative briefs, targeting recommendations, and a measurement framework.

Use this when: launching paid social or A/B testing creative angles.

10. Customer Case Study Copy Prompt

Turns one customer interview into three formats: long-form website case study, short-form sales one-pager, and social variants (LinkedIn post, carousel, tweet thread).

Use this when: turning a customer interview into deployable BOFU assets.

How to use the GTM prompt library

The prompts work standalone, but they're designed to chain.

Building GTM from scratch: 1 (Positioning) → 2 (Pain Map) → 3 (JTBD) → 8 (Homepage) → 5 (Comparison) → 4 (Content) → 10 (Case Study) → 6 (Outbound) → 7 (Sales Deck) → 9 (LinkedIn Ads)

Positioning sprint only: 1 → 2 → 3 → 8

Pipeline acceleration: 2 → 6 → 9

BOFU conversion focus: 5 → 10 → 7

Which AI model works best for these prompts?

Claude: best for positioning, JTBD, case studies, and any nuanced long-form copy. Strongest at following structured constraints.

GPT with Deep Research: best for competitor scraping, market sizing, and account sourcing.

Perplexity: fastest for live competitor research and review aggregation.
